About EVF
Combining data science,
engineering and biology
EVF has adapted existing agritech in an innovative and unique way, creating perfect environments for plants to thrive. Smart technology collects and analyses data to create bespoke growing recipes which reflect consumers’ tastes and preferences. Our approach is highly automated, reliable and ensures our crops get exactly what they need to taste as they should.
Instead of being planted in soil, our crops are grown inside, plugged into a system of nutrient-rich water and kept at the optimal temperature, under specially designed lighting. Our closed-loop solution has followed intensive development, testing and proving at our purpose built facility.
why we’re needed

Affordable for all
EVF understands that consumers want great-tasting, locally sourced food but are reluctant to pay more. Our crops are competitively priced, in line with conventionally grown produce.
In 2018, UK consumers saw fruit and vegetable prices rise because farmers struggled to grow crops in high temperatures. EVF grows in controlled environments to ensure its crops are consistent, high quality and not impacted by bad weather.
Locally grown goodness
EVF’s produce appeals to increasing numbers of consumers with an appetite for locally grown food. Supermarkets are actively recruiting new suppliers from across the UK to boost the availability of locally produced food in its stores, in response to consumer demand and in the wake of widespread fresh produce shortages.
By growing crops so close to our customers, EVF is reducing the distance from farm to fork, slashing food miles, strengthening UK food security and limiting emissions while delivering more nutritious and delicious food.
Because EVF can deliver to customers within hours of picking and packing, our plants have a longer shelf life and higher nutritional value. Our produce is tasty, grown without pesticides and far fresher than imported produce.
A New Green Revolution
EVF is a business aligned with the UK’s plans for a post-Covid, green recovery, helping to reboot the economy and achieve the UK’s target to end its contribution to global warming and bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.
